I don’t pretend to be a great poet. In fact, I failed English Literature at age sixteen. But I am impressed with the simplicity of Haiku, which is the bulk of this blog.
I subscribe to the seventeen syllable tradition: Five-seven-five. It isn’t always easy in English because English is such an unwieldy language.
I also like the idea of having a seasonal reference in each Haiku, so I try to do that. There are some exceptions, but these often refer to the “seasons” of life, so I can live with that.
Still, if it has an effect on you, then I am pleased. Even if you don’t like what I write, at least you took the time to look, and at least it stirred your emotions, even if not the way I had hoped.
So enjoy these Haiku, if you can; and if not, then try writing your own.
Just happened to run into your blog. You have got a beautiful space running here.
